Dominique KIM was born in Seoul. The daughter of a composer, she received her first piano and violin lessons while still very young.
She later moved to France and studied at the Paris Conservatoire, where her teachers included Yvonne LORIOD-MESSIAEN, Germaine MOUNIER, Jean HUBEAU, Christian LARDé, Jeanne LORIOD, Marcel BITSCH and Christian MANEN.
Even while she was still a student, Dominique KIM was already receiving international prizes.
Today, she is in international demand both as a lecturer and a performer on the piano and ondes Martenot.
Among the orchestras and ensembles with whom she has appeared are the Ensemble InterContemporain, the Vienna Symphony and Boston Symphony Orchestras and the Berlin Philharmonic.
